Spectre and Meltdown processing chip vulnerabilities

Louise Cato -

You are probably aware of two high-severity security risks relating to processing chips found in almost every computing device worldwide - nicknamed Spectre and Meltdown.

We want to reassure you all that we are investigating and working to mitigate this risk with our vendors and across all our systems. We will be applying all appropriate software patches made available. We’ll continue to keep up to date with any developments from the processing chip manufacturers and the cyber security community and will, as always, apply any further appropriate security updates which are made available to the industry.

No doubt your IT teams will all be occupied in dealing with this too, but if you wish to find out more about these vulnerabilities yourself then you can do so via your national Cyber Security websites.
