On Citizen Space you can publish results for all types of consultation. You can do this via two features, both of which are located in the Consultation Dashboard of each consultation:
There is a separate publishing feature, Response Publishing, which can be enabled for your site. This allows you to moderate and publish full responses on Citizen Space. Speak with your account manager if you'd like to learn more about Response Publishing.
You can use this feature to share the results of your consultation with respondents, link through to another website, upload a PDF and so forth. Once completed, the Publish Results section is displayed on the Overview page of your consultation.
To use Publish Results, navigate to the Outcomes section on the Consultation Dashboard and select the link to 'Publish Results'.
You can publish your results as a file (such as a .doc or .PDF), as a URL, and/or you can outline your findings using the text box. If you are using the text box, you can also add images and embed documents. You could also create a PDF summary report of your consultation responses in Citizen Space and upload it to the results page.
There is a 'Publish Results' column in the manage consultations export. You can use this column to check whether the publish results feature has been used across your consultations.
Another way to publish results is through the 'We Asked, You Said, We Did' option.
This allows you to provide a succinct overview of what was asked and what actions have been taken as a result of citizen and stakeholder responses to the consultation. It is a great way to provide a snapshot of the consultation from start to finish.
To use 'We Asked, You Said, We Did', navigate to the Outcomes section on the Consultation Dashboard and select the 'We Asked, You Said, We Did' link.
This will take you through to three text boxes you can fill in. These have simple styling capability, so you can use bold, italics, underline, bullet points, numbering and hyperlinks.
Top Tip: Be sure to keep your summaries succinct and to the point!
If the 'We Asked, You Said, We Did' section is filled in, and the consultation is closed and published, it will automatically display at the top of the Consultation Overview page.
There is some explanatory guidance text that appears above the 'Save and Publish' button if the consultation is open. This text disappears once the consultation is closed.
If the consultation is public it will show on the 'We Asked, You Said, We Did' tab and also at the bottom of the Consultation Hub. If the consultation is private it will show only on the consultation overview page.
There is a 'We Asked, You Said, We Did' column in the manage consultations export. You can use this column to check whether this feature has been used across your consultations.
Closing the loop
Both 'Publish Results' and 'We Asked, You Said, We Did' are optional sections and there will be no reference to either section if no content is entered. However, consultation guidelines strongly recommend feeding back results to your respondents, and these options are a quick and simple way to do it!
